What is AFCS?
A Fling Called Swing (AFCS) is a project co-funded by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps programme. It brings together art, music, and volunteering to build bridges between generations and revitalize local communities.
The initiative is led by the Spanish organisation DeAmicitia and coordinated from Casa Jazmín, in Sanet i Negrals (Alicante), by a diverse team of artists, healthcare professionals, youth workers, and European volunteers who believe in the transformative power of collaborative art.
In each edition, AFCS partners with elderly care centres, municipalities, hospitals, and associations to create experiences that enhance emotional well-being among older adults, while offering young Europeans a unique opportunity for learning, personal growth, and civic engagement.
AFCS is more than just a project — it is a creative and intergenerational community that celebrates joy, cooperation, and the positive impact of artistic volunteering.
